About

I am an applied meteorologist and climatologist with the California Geological Survey since 2023. My work focuses on understanding, forecasting, and monitoring precipitation associated with geohazards such as landslides and postfire debris flows.

From 2020-2022, I worked as Academic Program Manager at the Center for Western Weather and Water Extremes at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. In this position, my colleagues and I research synoptic to mesoscale drivers of extreme precipitation in the western US and their impacts on flooding, geohazards, and water resources.

From 2011 to 2020, I worked in various roles at the Western Regional Climate Center (WRCC) at the Desert Research Institute in Reno, Nevada, and ultimately as Regional Climatologist and Assistant Research Professor of Atmospheric Sciences. At the WRCC, I provided climate services, conducted applied research on western US climate, and developed tools for interpretation and visualization of climate data.

When I am not watching the weather, I enjoy surfing, trail running, dancing, mountain biking, and snowboarding.
